Among amateurs of mushroom picking, it is affectionately called a boletus. It is proudly listed in mushroom atlases as boletus. And from Latin it is called Boletus edulis. Its hallmark is a matte, rusty-brown hat with a slightly rough texture, mounted on a massive shaft. Boletus has been reigning over the years not only in the forest, but also on Polish tables.

It is difficult to imagine home-made mushroom, old Polish bigos and Christmas Eve dishes without them.

Until recently, it was believed that mushrooms lack nutritional value, and their contribution to the dishes is primarily intended to enrich the taste. Meanwhile, porcini mushrooms, which contain a lot of water in the flesh, provide few calories, and at the same time are a rich source of protein, healthy fatty acids and minerals. The drying process allows you to preserve the properties of these mushrooms, bring out their unique aroma and enjoy them all year round.
