Spanish oil is produced from carefully selected fruit of the olive tree. It is 100% natural, cold-pressed and non-purified. Colour and flavour: Olive oil with a yellow colour. The spiciest of the Olini oils - tangy, with intense bitterness.
Acidity: The oil has an ideal acidity of < 0.3%, which shows its very good quality.
Consistency: the olive oil has a liquid consistency, but when stored in the fridge it may thicken, a completely natural phenomenon and indicative of the high quality of the olive oil.
Properties:
This Spanish olive oil is 50% olives of the Arbequina variety. They are harvested from the end of September to the beginning of October. This is when they are at their most delicious. The other 50% of the oil is Picual olive oil. This is a variety with an intense flavour. The olives of this variety are dry and slightly spicy. Many gourmets find that such oil from Spain perfectly complements dishes with meat, cheese or fish.
The best olive oil from Spain is extra virgin, or virgin oil. This type has the most beneficial nutrients and a distinctive flavour and aroma. Such oil is extracted from the fruit of the olive tree mechanically, by pressing or centrifugation. The most important factor is the temperature of this process. It must not be too high - then the oil loses its valuable properties.
Spanish olive oil is a rich source of unsaturated fatty acids. It contains as much as 79 g of monounsaturated and 13 g of polyunsaturated fatty acids per 100 g.
Replacing saturated fats in the diet with unsaturated fats helps to maintain normal blood cholesterol levels.
Olive oil from Spain also has a high smoke point. This means that you can use it to prepare hot dishes without worrying about losing its valuable properties. You can heat the oil up to 220-240°C.
